Since 2015, Preischl 3D has evolved from a hobby into a 3D printing manufacturer.
Fascinating works are created in cooperation with designers and artists.
Known as the first 3D printing booth at Swiss conventions, Preischl 3D has been aiming to share the enthusiasm for 3D printing since 2019.
The portfolio includes contract printing for private and corporate clients and a diverse online shop.
Starting as a hobby in 2015, Michael Preischl quickly recognized the unlimited potential of 3D printing. In cooperation with international 3D designers and Swiss artists, he creates fascinating works of art. As early as 2019, Preischl 3D was the first 3D printing booth to be presented at Swiss conventions.
The clear goal since 2019: to inspire people to get involved with 3D printing.
The portfolio includes custom printing for private and corporate clients, and everyone can find something suitable in the online shop – from dragons and cosplay to decorations. Through live demonstrations, consultations, and unique figures, Preischl 3D has established itself as a leading Swiss 3D printing provider.
He was bored. So Michael Preischl brought home a box full of electronics from China, supposedly enough to build a so-called 3D printer. Endless hours and a few tricky problem-solving sessions later, there actually was a 3D printer in front of him. It was a complicated learning process, but that's precisely what ignited his passion and laid the foundation for further development.
What followed were many, many printouts, including some truly disastrous misprints and frequent printer problems. But nothing deterred Michael from his "research." On the contrary, he persevered and continued slowly but surely.
Stagnation. Michael had now printed everything he ever wanted to print. And now what? Every now and then he'd get the printer out for smaller print jobs, but it was slowly gathering dust.
The solution: Ask friends what they want printed! Curiosity was rekindled. But: Would this one printer meet the requirements?
Word gets around that Preischl has a 3D printer. The first inquiries from companies for 3D printing jobs are coming in. Things are slowly getting started, and two new printers are purchased. Wow! The technology has advanced. No more two-hour setup time, and already better results.
The first trade fair appearances are complete. There are now a lot of printers lying around here.
Many different models from various manufacturers. Each has its specialty, but also its own quirks. Corona prevents further trade fair appearances, but smaller orders are keeping spirits high.
The decision has been made. This all has the potential to become a viable business. So far, Michael has made very few sales and reinvested everything. The goal is for this former hobby to become self-sustaining, allowing Michael to run it as a side income. From now on, everything will be documented and analyzed. The plan seems realistic.
The time has come to found the company. Preischl 3D was officially established in January. Everything has been revised and professionalized: user-friendly pricing tools, accounting software, an Etsy online shop, and much more.
Furthermore, the entire workshop was cleaned up. Michael now either builds printers himself or uses printers from Prusa Research. This ensures optimal quality for all parts and therefore optimal customer satisfaction.
Michael will continue down this path. Enjoying what he does, satisfied customers, and perhaps even a small profit at the end of the year – that's all he needs to be happy with this hobby.
Preischl 3D has become a well-known name in the Swiss 3D printing market, with a large network and many long-standing partners. What began as a hobby and a passion has grown into a serious company known for its excellent advice and high quality.
Michael is now being hired as an expert for training platforms, lectures, interviews,...
Services
What once began as a small 3D printing farm in his own home has now developed into a professional and steadily growing production facility. Michael – founder, inventor, and passionate maker – has turned his vision into reality: a modern 3D printing workshop where the highest precision, state-of-the-art technology, and personal interaction are paramount.
For many years, Michael ran his 3D printing operation from home, gaining extensive experience with materials, printing processes, and efficient production workflows. Today, he has specially equipped production facilities perfectly suited to modern 3D printing technologies. The workshop is constantly expanding – new machines are added regularly, enabling him to realize an ever-growing number of exciting projects.
You can expect a constantly expanding fleet of high-performance FDM and resin printers, as well as professional engraving lasers capable of processing almost any material. Whether wood, leather, brass, stainless steel, or glass – sharp, precise engravings are guaranteed.
With his new location in Bern, Michael has found the perfect place. The region offers an inspiring network, many exciting contacts, and valuable collaborations. The cooperation with local Bernese companies, in particular, makes daily work so enjoyable – short distances, direct encounters, and the opportunity for personal exchange.
Production in Kirchlindach (BE) combines the best of both worlds: proximity to the city of Bern and the peace and quiet needed for focused work. Even though many customers come from all over Switzerland, personal contact remains a central part of the collaboration – whether digital or, whenever possible, in person.
The workshop is growing as fast as the ideas – and there's something new to discover on every visit. If you'd like to take a look behind the scenes, you're very welcome. A guided tour will show you just how versatile modern 3D printing and engraving technologies are today, and how a project comes together from idea to finished product.
Just write to Michael if you feel like coming by or would like a personal consultation.
Your project. Your ideas. Our technology.
Together we will take your vision to the next level in 3D printing, engraving or individual product design – professionally, regionally and with genuine passion.
It is always fascinating to watch how a 3D printer can create figures, bodies and shapes.
This creative process is so free and open to new and previously unimaginable creations that we have fully dedicated ourselves to this still young technology.
We've realized that a 3D printer isn't simply a printer that builds material layer by layer into an object with height, width, and depth: a 3D printer is so much more than just a fun toy. These printers empower us to create entirely new forms and production methods. Printing purely for fun wouldn't be enough for us. We pour our hearts into exploring what's possible, unlocking more of the full potential – both our own and that of our 3D printers – every day in our 3D printing service.
3D printing offers virtually unlimited possibilities for producing everything from individual parts to series of 10,000 pieces, and is often incredibly easy to use. What constantly fuels our curiosity are challenging projects that allow us to explore the technical possibilities of 3D printing and give free rein to our experimental spirit. Just how playful, yet precise, 3D printing can be is demonstrated by our diverse product range. Take a look and be inspired. It's showtime!
